Have never been the best at maths...but is 24,000 square meters smaller than 8,000 square meters when the measurements are converted to acres?  (I'm guessing it was meant to be 1.97 acres, not 19.7)

Is that supposed to be 80,000? And yeah, I guess this is better than nothing, or having to go outside of Tokyo, but yiiiiikes that is a step down in space. I doubt the smaller only events will be affected much, but the Comic City events and Comiket? Are not gonna fit in that space... I wonder if they'll have to reduce the size in that case o_O "In addition, the area for the booths has been changed from the West 3 and 4 Halls to the West 1 and 2 Halls. " DDDDD: West 1/2 are already super crowded. It's a madhouse down there. Now they're shoving the industry booths in there as well? Count me out of setting foot in the West halls this summer... |

Hehe... I remember when the rinkai line opened up the station in Odaiba... "Tokyo Teleport". It's actually a really cool underground station: Only 1 platform, but the main floor has really high ceilings and feels very open air with nice wood panelling as well. |

At least they're giving them a temporary space rather than cancelling everything for that whole year just for the Olympics. So, i'm happy for them.

Better than nothing. I guess the better fix for Comiket in this cake would be to expand the event by a few days so more circles can be included, but I suppose it'll just be even harder to gain a spot instead.

Tokyo wanted the Olympics; Tokyo got the Olympics
Hopefully at least, they'd improve the infrastructures and make Tokyo more world-friendly |

Dear lord, they destroyed a perfectly good waterway system back then. Not to mention the local fishing industry. I hate to see what's lost this time even though events like Comiket are safe or almost safe. |

Win some; lose some Japan has been about moving forward. Without the miraculous rise from the WW2 ashes of Japan Inc. (and the 1964 Tokyo Olympics as seen on From Up On Poppy Hill), Japan wouldn't be as modern as it is currently. Certainly no Akiba, which started out as an Electric Town. |

Certainly things change, but without weighing up the consequences and making a widely informed consensus decision, unique features may be needlessly lost, see for example Shimokitazawa - the residents weren't that pleased: http://www.japantrends.com/new-documentary-examines-changing-face-of-shimokitazawa-2003-2014/, it is not quite the place mentioned in .hack//SIGN or that I visited in 2012 to hear anime singer Chiaki Ishikawa. |
