How cute, the visual art is a reverse of one of the volume covers. I'm definitely going to watch this. And SEE EVERYONE?? It's not fanservice-like in any way shape or form. It's just a comdey-sports anime. Also can people stop comparing this series to "Free!"? It is NO WHERE NEAR like free. There are no "childhood friends" incolved, it's just about this main protagonist girl who wants to enter keijo competitions to get money for her poor family. It's nothing like this "reverse version of free". Don't judge if you don't understand the concept of the story. My gosh.

Hey now, as some one with a pretty severe competition swimsuit fetish this entire show is fanservice.
Needless to say I'll be watching it.

I would say it is at least inspired by the craze. All of a sudden there was a great cycling anime for the ladies, and there were some clearly immediate 'trying to cash in' the same, for the male audiences.
I'm more surprised that it took this long. My only hope is that it is following the lines of 'inspired by' rather than 'cash in.'

I completely agree. It would be nice to receive a quality sports series that focuses on female characters - that may even be a bit fanservicey- aimed towards male viewers and inspired by the successes of recent sports series that have hit it off with female viewers. I have nothing against the other sports series (Yowamushi and Free are both enjoyable, and Haikyu! is amazing), but I would periodically like to watch a quality sports series with female leads.
If it does just turn out to be a cash in, I'll be disappointed.

The manga was serialized around the same time the first Free! episode aired, so maybe Kyoto Animation had this all planned

Not sure if that's sarcasm, but:
Quote: | In the sport, contestants stand on platforms floating on the water and must use their butts and chests to fight against each other to push each other off the platform. |
Aquatic all-girl sumo wrestling where they can only fight using their butts and boobs? I'm having trouble imagining how that could not be fanservicey.

I've actually read the first chapter of this some time ago, and it's not that fanservice-y, surprisingly enough. The boobs&butts are all (generally) normal sized, and there's not much of a "erotic" feel about it, overall. I may be wrong since i've only read the beggining, but well, it has 8 volumes already, so it must at least has some content. I'll give this series a try when it comes out.
Also, why is everyone comparing this to Free? Is it because of the exclamation marks and it being about an water sport? because that's the only things that these two share, at my eye. Free! was more centered on the history and the character's dramas, while Keijo feels more like a happy-go-lucky series about a girl trying to get money, some strategy, and the said girl's various rivals.

I skipped the "swimming anime," but I'm definitely watching this.

I love the visual--it displays the characters without really going into the fanservice area. I can't wait to see how Keijo plays out.

You missed some gorgeous animation, where many scenes were lifted straight from Olympics competitions and the staff actually went to Sydney to be sure that the scenery and locations matched what was shown 100%.
Even if you're not into slice-of-life friends-forever coming-of-age stuff, the animation alone is pretty impeccable and a sight to see.

The premise is all about the T&A. The manga itself not so much. When they are fighting with their boobs and buts, it's played as a sports anime. There are special boob moves. There's a girl who can judo throw you with her tits. There's another who can us Gate Of Babylon with butts. No, really.

Characters in the key visual kinda reminds me of the Kasuga Ayumu's art style (illustrator of Twin tail, Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut and the author of Joukamachi no Dandelion).
