I'm actually really enjoying Active Raid. These days it seems like I can't go a full season without loving something that the rest of the community despises.

It's okay, I'm one of those enjoying Haruchika more than anyone else, it seems.

Damn, One Piece tanked.
Was Gear Fourth just that good or was the following episode just that bad?

Pretty fair to be honest. Erased and Showa being right up there is no surprise at all.
The only one that's a bit of a headscratcher in my opinion is Heavy Object being mid table. About the only saving grace of that series at this point is Froylatia's fine proportions.

Increasingly, the pacing is killing the flow of events. I've been unhappy with it for quite a while, but now it looks like that impression is being more broadly felt.
Something needs to be done, but the question is if Toei will ever do it.

The past few arcs have been fairly good, though hardly amazing. I'm not saying it's the best show, but it's decent enough to be mid table.
And while I wouldn't argue that Froylatia doesn't has fine proportions, some people prefer Milinda. And some even like Ohoho's proportions both her fake ones and her real ones. Ugh as long as no one says DFC unironically I'm fine with Ohoho. So even from judging solely on female characters' proportions, Froylatia is hardly the only saving grace.

Aah, Active Raid: Kidō Kyōshūshitsu Daihachigakari is such a wonderful series. It's a shame that it's at such a low ranking.

Let's see now:
-ERASED and Shouwa Genroku are thriving, as expected and deserved.
-Dimension W is doing fine, but I expected a higher rating for Iron-Blooded Orphans.
-BBK/BRNK keeps falling. Unforntunately, I understand why.
-Phantom World is getting better, and yet it falls in the ranking. Haruchika was never bad in the first place, but keeps getting better... and is still near the bottom... And then there's Active Raid closer to the bottom, for reasons I cannot comprehend.
Edit: Talking about cumulative ranking.

After watching the first two episode of active raid I have a hard time seeing why anyone still watch it. Bad slapstick comedy, terrible character, poor CG, take your pick. To each there own.

Just wait a week as IBO's last ep was well received, so it will likely go up to something you were expecting.
And if Phantom World stays at around last week's rating, it'll go up. The culmulative is slower to reflect changes. We'll see tomorrow if Phantom World will go up.

For me, Heavy Object is one of those shows where I think "Wow I love this show" and "wow I can't believe I love this show" at different points in the same episode, because every episode has some parts are just unbelievably dumb/bad, while the rest of the episode is a lot of fun.

Yeah, you're right. Silly me, if the cumulative is a reflection of the whole season thus far, then it's larger in scope, and thus slower.
Well, let's hope things keep heading that direction. Hope Phantom World keeps up its gradual improvement.

I wasn't aware that Durarara was even back. Or Gintama for that matter. I'm really out of touch.

While I've loved goofy, sometimes serious anime like Kill la Kill and Space Dandy in the past few years, and One Punch Man just last season, ERASED is the first serious anime I've loved in a long time. Because it just seems to be so hard for Japan to express real and honest emotions without coming off as incredibly overbearing and heavy-handed. And yes, this show does fall into that trap occasionally, but I've learned to accept this with Japanese media at this point. And honestly, the amount of offenses are extremely low compared to many other melodramatic shows I've seen churned out. Just an example I can think of at the moment is the apparent need for characters to constantly point out obvious things that the viewer should already know (especially when the "thing" is visual, no less!). But like I said, they don't abuse those tropes too much. And what really makes it not an issue for me is just how dang intriguing the characters and story are at this point! I know lot of anime can crash and burn midway through, I really hope that doesn't happen with ERASED. Because so far I feel like it's been doing everything it's trying to accomplish perfectly.
