In Japan (and the rest of Asia, and also Europe) you can find trains almost everywhere. Even small towns often have some kind of train service.
Not so in America, in large part because the auto industry wants people dependent on buying cars. Consequently, American children don't grow up thinking trains are awesome like Japanese kids do. So marketing a train-themed superhero show would probably be tough.... ....but they should try anyway because ToQuger is a magical kind of ridiculous and I love it. Power Rangers Train Squad's transformation phrase should be, "Hey American kids, you say you don't like trains? We'll MAKE you like trains, you little farts!" All the monsters are digitally replaced with American children who refuse to like trains. Everything else is the same. Ninja Steel would probably be more exciting if they hadn't already done that theme once before (good luck coming up with a better villain than Ninja Storm's Lothor.) |

Everyone think that it's because trains aren't popular and that's why Saban skipped it but we all know the real reason it getting skip is this:
The series is too adult oriented for these kids to watch anyways. Joking aside, I wish ToQger would have gotten the adaption because it was the series that looks so ridiculous but turns out being a very interesting season. Better than the one they're adapting NinNinger |

^ Oh, come on. All Saban has to do is add a little 4kids touch to it like this:

Probably going to be split into two again, the latter being called Super Ninja Steel or Ninja Super Steel

Hopefully for the 25th anniversary season they come out with something more original but I'm not holding my breath.

it's a lot easier to make edits like that to an anime then it is to CG in a live action show |

They weren't being serious. But yeah, trains are pretty toxic in America. If anything I think Thomas hurts their image more than helps it, older kids consider trains baby toys. It's hard enough to get trains pushed as part of a greater series (ask any Transformers fan asking for a Raiden update), but a whole series would be nearly impossible to market. Emerje |

That's probably a smart move. "Tokkyuger" was criticized for having aesthetically unpleasing suits for the rangers. Hopefully in this version, the Red Ranger isn't an obnoxious @$$hat who constantly screams "I'm getting fired up" and they don't change the main antagonist every five episodes. Say what you will about "Kyoryuger" and "Tokkyuger," but at least their stories were interesting enough for me to finish them. |

Saban is certainly not risky at all that's my problem with them see they use stock fighting scene from the Super Sentai counterpart.
They are lazy "idiot" in my view and opinion. That's why Super Sentai is far Superior than Power Rangers and I hope Toei keep doing silly things for their Super Sentai for screw Power Rangers and force them to being more inovative and risky. Also in this case they are certainly lacking IMAGINATION ! |

I think it's a little more complicated than that, you have a better argument if you bring China into the conversation, but the biggest issue in the USA is how MUCH land mass we have to cover. There's train service in NY and DC and other major cities, but once you leave the really DENSE areas, it is a tougher sell. Especially now when you're talking about building it from scratch. But the fact that America has enough land to encourage the suburban sprawl, means that a train system is less useful in MOST major American cities. In NY, you can take a train somewhere and WALK to a large number of relevant locations, but how many cities have that kind of density? That said, while I agree that the train thing made ToQger a tough sell, I wonder if the color CHANGE gimmick hurt it (for a Power Rangers release) also. There's a few aspects of that that I could see US corporate entertainment being very leery of, especially since the biggest "point" of Power Rangers is toy marketing. |

I hate to tell you this but power ranger is latterly an coproduction between Toei and Saban to the point that after 2004 South Korea stopped dubbing power rangers edits in Korean and just Dubed the super sentai series and rebranded it as power rangers doen to re doing the vocals of the music and replacing the team anme with power rangers especially noticeable in Captian force where the ed was altered to mention power rangers along with the something force names assigned especially starting in 2005 when the squad names deviated from the US name Abaranger was still dubbed as dino thunder just with toei's actors and plot. SPD had the full name of the squad given an merged name "Power Rangers Special Police Delta" using the Disney spd logo inserted in to the dekaranger op sequence. mystic force became Power Rangers Magic Force, Boukenger became Power Rangers Treasure Force, Gekiranger became Power Rangers Wild Spirits , Go-Onger became Power Rangers Engine Force and the Vs. file was dubbed as an power rangers movie there while Disney dropped doing team-ups in there markets, Shinkenger was skipped due to being too Japanese centric as South Korea is still sentive to Japan's culture over taking theres so Gaoranger got dubbed as an power rangers series known as Power Rangers Jungle Force the toyline there was mixed with us an japans toys but Shinkenger did get to make some appearances as part of other imported shows once in Kamen Rider Decade as Power Rangers Samurai Force and in the Gokaiger dub as Power Rangers Blade Force, Goseiger was translated as Power Rangers Miracle Force keeping the angel motif saban cut out for BSAP reasons. Gokaiger became Power Rangers Captain Force along with power anger names for all of the past teams
go-busters was dubbed as Power Rangers Go Bursters , Kyoryuger is Power Rangers Dino Force, ToQger is Power Rangers Train Force, Ninninger has yet to be dubbed. http://henshingrid.blogspot.com/2013/06/power-rangers-in-south-korea-super.html at least saban films some new footage but is still under contract to use an certain percentage of toei stock each episode. I just hope saban can manage to keep all of the call backs to past teams in since both past ninja rangers show up to grant the team there legend powers and we do get one metal hero and mystic force yellow pops up. |

Have you watched Dino Charge yet because it's something innovative and risky from all the original footage they have been using. We honestly haven't seen a lot of that since the In Space and Lost Galaxy days. Ever since Judd Lynn came back, their game has stepped up a bit from the previous seasons we saw when they got it back. The only thing I have a problem with is the constant use of space villains. It's going to be used again for Ninja Steel but I want something where villains do not come from space and something more different. It really depends on which season of each that you watch. Some PR shows are better than their Super Sentai counterpart and vice versa but either way both have their strengths and weaknesses that makes them good. The whole thing with Toqger is that, as stated before, trains aren't that popular in America as they once was and the fact that the suits weren't something that would make kids say they're cool. I just started Toqger which it's something different than what I'm used to in sentai but I just think it's something that won't fit for American audiences. |
