The namco near my apartment does these lotteries, and most of them sell out within one or two days (a recent example being Cinderella Girls). I would guess a few hardcore fans pretty much buy up the whole lot to get the last prize.

These "Last One" prizes must be quite valuable considering only one is ever given out.

Well, every arcade/convenient store/wherever doing the lottery has a last prize. So there are actually a decent number of them. But they are for sure the most expensive ones to buy second hand most of the time. (Though there was a recent Youkai Watch lottery, and the last prizes were at some shop in Akiba for 400 yen so idk it might depend on the franchise and what the last prize actually is). |

Oh, is that how it works? All this time, I've been reading about these lotteries thinking that it's all one big contest and that the set of prizes given out is the only set there will ever be.

Haha nah. The arcade doing it will have this big poster with the list of prizes (sometimes A through J, the prizes getting less rare down the list, and also the last prize. You pay to draw from a box (some lotteries are like 620 or more yen) and you get a prize corresponding to the letter. For example, I did 4 tries for a Yuru Yuri one earlier this month. I got four different prizes which was pretty lucky. What the clerks then do is take part of your...ticket thing (like it rips open to show which letter you got) and they stick it on the poster. It lets you know how many of X prizes are left, and how many total prizes have been claimed or are gone. So using that, some people might think its a good investment to spend like 100 dollars to get the last like 20 prizes and then also get the last prize. (And if you live in Tokyo or I guess use the internet it is pretty easy to sell off doubles to second hand stores or just other fans. So it would not shock me if sometimes people paid hundreds and the lottery only had a few players at certain locations. There was a GochiUsa one in Akiba in December and every arcade had huge lines of otaku with GochiUsa bags and other merch so you knew they were serious ahha). |

Does every entry have a prize, or are there a lot of entries where you pay and get nothing?
(I'm sure I've seen a few of these at vendors' shops at conventions and collectible shows without recognizing them as lottery prizes.) |

I would go for the Special Color version of Asuna. I think her outfit of that color goes well with her staff.

Yep! You get a prize for playing no matter what. Most of the time if it is a series/franchise you like, it is always worth playing a couple times because all the goods are limited to the lottery and most are at least worth the playing fee. |

I love how Lisbeth is the character with the least changes for the maid outfit. It's not that much different than her blacksmith outfit.
