I hope it gets a remake at some point. Zidane is still one of the more popular male characters in FF, and the game in general does well on polls for the series and gets love still.

My only worry is, I would want them to stay true to the design and tone of the game and just "upgrade" it so much as change things, and I don't think the SE of the next five years even is quite capable of that.

I hope this gets a lot more people playing the game! Always one of my favorite Final Fantasy games.

I recall various forum posts from the original artists on the game, showing off some of the high-quality assets - seeing how amazing they were compared to how everything was compressed and pixelated for the PSX game made me really want some sort of HD remaster. Not even a remake, I'd be totally fine with a remaster that made the best of all the beautiful art assets.

Sadly it seemed to be that S-E hadn't really taken care of all the related assets for the game, and the likelihood of them gathering them all together in one place to be able to upgrade the game was next to zero. It's still a really beautiful game as it is, but ah, what could have been.

Yes, FF9 still have a special Place inside my Heart, it is wonderful that they want to give it another chance for the New generation to play this piece of Art, i just Hope they do some HD upgrades. What we saw until now was Render Ingame sequences.. Show us ingame Graphics

also, the scene of the girl cut her Hair.. is still inside me

About time. FFIX was the very first Final Fantasy game I ever played and got me into the franchise so it's a personal favorite of mine. Now they just need to add it the PS Store for PS4.

FInal Fantasy IX is probably the most underrated game in the series. I wonder if this has to do with the recent fan complaints about this game being abandoned by Square? There were even rumors that they lost the source code.

Also has one of my favorite game songs

such an underrated game in the series, and a really good one at that, (hell I'd take Zadain over Tidus, Vann, or Lighting any day)

Anybody remember if the original's theme song (US ver) was in English or Japanese? It's been years since I played it and can't remember, but watching the videos I noticed that the Japanese version seems much more familiar to me...

For better and worse most of the elements will be stripped off; pre-rendered backgrounds, turn based combat, CG cutscenes(instead it will be in game) and many other changes.

I am so excited that my absolutely favorite Final Fantasy game is coming out as an official pc release. I really hope it doesn't get the Final Fantasy IV treatment when that was released on DS. Really just spruce up a few things or leave it alone because the artistic design of the world and characters is so much of the charm of that game and it would hurt to see it changed. The Final Fantasy VII PC port was good with a few upscaling of the graphics mainly the battle character models but it keeps the artistic design of the game.
