Don't worry, animated gifs will not make regular appearances on the front page. I did it for fun because I liked that brief segment (the sponsor didn't ask me to do it). If a sponsor ever asks, the answer will be a resounding "No."
If, I happen to see that 100x more people read the advertorial because the animation caught their eye, then future requests will be met with a resounding "okay, but it will cost you a truckload of money."

Get something well-dubbed and tell them that it's Pixars first 2D effort.

Hah sounds like a fine solution to me, I've slowly been corrupting my friends to listen to anime/VG music. I've finally worn them down, Fairy Tail OST was a big help in that regard.

What do you mean, Umaru for little sisters? Clearly the right choice for this relative is one of the many classy anime where siblings are trying to have sex with each other.
...Wait, you mean this isn't a list about making your family stop talking to you? Oh.

Disown them and replace them with one that does.
Problem solved!

Oreimo. Better if you're female.

I don't even want to imagine what would happen if I dared show my Dad Food Wars...

If it matters, I clicked on this ad-article because it sounded interesting, and not because of the animated gif (I use the text-only compact view so I didn't realize there was one).

I gotta say, I can relate to the 'Weird Uncle' choice. I'll likely be that weird uncle in the future, but until then, Punch Line was actually pretty decent story-wise.
Similar to what others have said, no family of mine will watch anime lol. I'm the Lone Ranger, and no Pixar lie will fix that (though it's a good idea).
Yona, Food Wars, etc etc all great choices...not for my family, but for others!

I know...I know exactly what you mean my friend. Just a stared blank of confusion mixed with criticism.

I don't have any problem with the animated gif. I actually prefer gifs, because they give me a glimpse of anime I haven't seen before. I've already seen Punch Line, but I've seen countless other gifs that have attracted me to shows I wouldn't have thought about watching.
