Noticed that both the top anime and game pick are Bandai Namco titles. Kind of surprised yet kind of not since they've been all over the map in 2015

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

What are those pieces of swill in the top five anime positions? There is only one anime transcendent enough to take the coveted AOTY position, and none of those are even close to it. The real anime that is AOTY is none other than the unparalleled triumph known as:

Chaos Dragon.

^ Average anime with great OP/ED songs. The real MVP is Denpa Kyoushi.

So the top winner, Miss Hokusai, has neither a licensed release in North America nor even an English fansub as far as I can tell.

The disc release was only a week or so ago, with uploads on trackers only a few days ago. There might be a fansub being done right now, but those things take time.

I've seen it in the cinema here in Adelaide as part of the Japanese Film Festival - movies can take a while to get released compared with series.

From the anime, I want to check out BBB and Expelled from Paradise. Didn't like Shirobako or Your Lie.

As for the games, there's nothing there I'm interested in either.

Nice to see Nobuhiro Yamashita twice in the rankings: His film La La La at Rock Bottom came in at #3 for domestic movies and his TV documentary series Takayuki Yamada in Tokyo-to Kita-ku Akabane at #4 for domestic TV series.

The movie is reminiscent of Linda Linda Linda in all the right ways but I was especially impressed with Takayuki Yamada in Tokyo-to Kita-ku Akabane, where he accompanies actor Takayuki Yamada to Akabane north in Toyko and documents his recovery after a nervous breakdown. It's amazing how Yamada allows himself to be filmed in a time he's very vulnerable and Yamashita handles the filming with great discretion and empathy.
