I'm excited, but also bummed out. I was hoping that their next work would be about Kumagawa's son that we saw in the last chapter of Medaka.

Huh. A left-handed protagonist in a manga. I don't see that very often.

This is what the artist actually says, as items in parenthesis are not part of the sentence:
Quote: | ..NisiOisin and Akira Akatsuki — the writer and artist behind the Medaka Box manga — are reuniting for a new series.. |
Meaning, the writer (Nisio) and artist (Akatsuki) are teaming up again.

what Kumagawa has a son! where did this happen exactly?
and these characters look kinda like a young medaka and Kumagawa. I really wish we could get a continuation of medaka box but i must admit its best to end before people start getting sick of it. Im definitely missing Kumagawa more than any other character

Pretty certain he means Kikaijima's baby, whom part of the fandom believes to be his son.

Yeah, I suppose I'm reaching there. It's not as if there's any confirmation about it . But I suppose you're right. Better that the Medaka series end on a high note than struggle along.

Medaka Box WAS struggling along by the end of its run - it rated low on the rankings and the last arc is pretty EH. Honestly, I enjoyed the series but mainly for the election arc and the subsequent marriage arc with the word powers. The were the arcs which really escaped the boundaries of typical shounen - which is what NisiO is good at.
Also I'd say the mc looks more like Unzen and another female lead? Medaka's eyes rarely looked as large or innocent.

I thoroughly enjoyed Medaka Box and was disappointed by how they ended the manga, but what can I say when you can only do so much with the story. Anyways I am glad to see that they are starting a new project and look to see what they can give us with it.
