If only a competent studio could permanently replace Toei.

If only someone would replace the VA of King Kai.

It'll be strange getting used to a 3rd VA for King Kai.

Sadly, that was needed to be done. Yanami obviously had health problems and couldn't play Kaiou anymore.

Sadly, this is a long time coming. King Kai's performance in DB Super has sounded really weird and miscast: His actor clearly can't keep up with the action onscreen, and the result is a character who sounds like he's falling asleep even as he's running around frantically onscreen.
Tatsuka is nearly 80 years old, and I think he may no longer have the energy needed to play such a comedic role. He does a fine job as the narrator, who is supposed to sound like a detached old man, but maybe it's time he stood down from his other role.

His voice sounded much more grittier and it was somewhat difficult to discern between words. I hope he isn't straining himself by performing those roles.

Yeah, I knew something was wrong because they recast Dr. Brief a while back in DB Kai. He's already 84, BTW.
Edit: Oh yeah, and of course the recasting of Babidi before that. All signs he wasn't doing so well.
Sadly, I don't think he'll be coming back because there's no cure for getting old. It's something we all have to deal with.

He also voices Karin in DB, the news could've mentioned that. It's probably closer to the voice he'll use.
Anyway, Yanami is awesome, and i'm glad they gave him the role again out of respect, but he's really having trouble. I respect him a lot for trying, still.

I hate to say it but Jouji was dogging it out there so I hope he can get some rest but I don't know if he's gonna be right for the job anymore.
