It may be only a matter of time before "Iggy" is bought by a family that will give him great care, perhaps with a dog biscuit or two.

I can't believe that dog is $2,580. I saw dogs for sale in Kyoto in June that were around $5,000. Anyone know why pets cost so much in Japan?

It could also be because of the pet breeding/selling industry itself. That 172-lb Pit that's been in the news the past few months has a litter that's $500K.
