Ooh. Gonna have to set my recorder up for that TV special! If we're lucky maybe Sinbad no Bouken will get a TV series. I find his spin-off more exciting than the main Magi story.

Wasn't there something about it being half over earlier this year? Unless the final arc is very long, I was expecting it to go on between 400-500 chapters in total.

I have some doubts about the Sinbad series. It already has been getting OVAs that were released over the past few months.
Anyways, hopefully a third season will be announced in the future.

So...what about the issues inbetween the end of the Kou arc and the start of the final arc? Will the manga be on a break?

I think she said it was half done around volume 20? So if they're around volume 30 now it isn't out of the question that the final arc would be about 10 volumes long.

I'm not gonna lie; while I've enjoyed the anime so far I hadn't delved into the manga yet even though I'd heard good things (extra details, etc) but seeing these gorgeous covers lately has been a big help to convince me to give it a go.
30-40 volumes is definitely on the higher end of a series and thus, financially intimidating for me, but given a good enough story and cast I'll bite the proverbial bullet. It feels like Magi, despite its flaws, could be something really great.

So it's a matter of time before it warps up,eh? Most of the questions has been answered and I see there's nothing else left.
It will be nice if they announced that season 3 will get green-lit.

Yeah, but they come out one episode every few months. Would be nice if we could get a TV series so we didn't have to wait as long.
Of course there may not be enough material atm but one can still hope.
I don't really like Hakuryuu and the latest manga volumes have been reinforcing that. The recent chapters (I follow the tankoubons) have been sorely lacking in Sinbad-ness.

A third season adapting the rest of the manga would be nice.

I have mixed feelings about this. While I'm super excited for the final arc to be here, at the same time, I feel a bit sad to see it moving towards the actual ending. I rather enjoy reading Magi and would like to see it continue even more, but I do understand all good things eventually have to end. Hopefully the final arc doesn't disappoint then.

One season would barely even cover what's already out since Season 2. I don't even think it would cover the arc that just ended, let alone the next final arc.

Well hopefully this arc focuses more on characters I care about because between the recently ended one and the flashback Magi has become a really boring series to me. There were spots of enjoyment and overall I liked how Hakyryuu went all the way with his revenge quest and succeeded (whether it will be good for him or not is an open answer sure) but the charm it had in the beginning and up til somewhere in the wizard school arc, while still being about politics and world building was gone and I didn't find the execution to be especially grabbing for me to get excited each week. I've often forgotten I was reading it was how badly I've fell off of it.

The Sinbad manga has more than enough material at this point. The OVAs ended in the conquer of the Valefor dungeon, the manga has already developped three more arcs.
I honestly wish the whole Sinbad manga gets redone as an anime series, pretending the OVAs don't exist, because they felt very stiff and rushed, left a lot of stuff out (the story of Sinbad's dad, for starters) and lost a lot of the emotional moments. The Magi anime was a great adaptation and I want Sinbad to get the same treatment

Not that surprised, I mean this series has been going on a while and It's wrapped up a lot of questions we've had about the main characters.
Now I just hope more questions and character arcs will be wrapped up properly to where it feels like it SHOULD end without any intention of getting a sequel.
Even though it'd be awesome to see this series continue on for a while, I have faith that Shinobu Ohtaka will end this series properly.
