Ooh this sounds good. I hope it's another 2 cour again because Garo is such an entertaining show when it was airing.

I loved Garo and I love Jidaigeki. Let's see how this combination will work. Really waiting for this.

Oh, a new protagonist? I'm all for that. Garo was very entertaining, but the protagonist of season 1 was kinda meh (the people around him were far more interesting).

That's too bad. I was under the assumption that the second season was gonna be a sequal but I guess this is fine too.

So... where does this new show fall in the timeline, relative to the most recent Garo anime? I thought that the last one was the only one in existence 0_o

An anime set in the Heian period with a female protagonist? Are you sure you're not talking about Otogi Zoshi?

So now a female will don the Garo gear. This should be interesting. I haven't finished the first season so I'll have to catch up to find out where the 2nd season ties in, if at all.

Interesting.
I was under the impression from the live action series that females couldn't become Makai Knights.

I don't know about the live-action but the anime establishes very quickly that they can in that version.

'Fall' season, I dub thee 'The Season of 2nd Seasons'.
Diabolik Lovers, Is the order a rabbit?, Haikyu!!, K, Noragami, Owari no Seraph, Owarimonogatari, Testament of Sister New Devil, Garo and even a third season of Yuri Yuri.
I don't watch all of these, just thought to make a list to prove my point xD

Absolutely fantastic news, the first season was easily one of the best fantasy action/adventure series I've seen in this decade so far and I was legitimately sad when it ended. It turns out not only is it getting a sequel but I won't have to wait long. MAPPA owns really hard I'm noticing, like they'll do a second season of a great show even if it doesn't meet a certain threshold of disc sales (show didn't even chart that I'm aware). The rest of the industry really should be following their example of just doing animation for the sake of producing the good show, not just for quick BD revenue.
I suppose it helps that Garo is already an established Sentai franchise, but seriously I see no other studio doing this sort of thing at that level right now besides maybe Sunrise or Bones and at 24 straight episodes and then coming back for more in spite of BD sales. Obviously they're working on a different set of rules much like the company they spun off from. I mean crap Ushio to Tora is going to be 39 episodes straight through too. MAPPA doesn't fudge around.

As far as I can remember, it doesn't. If you're talking about the MC's mother, she was a priestess, not a Makai Night. A woman can HAVE the blood of a Makai Knight, but can't actually become one or use one of those armors. Most women who fight along Makai Knights in the Garo TV series are priestesses.
So this is interesting. Either we'll see the first ever female AND non-Makai Knight protagonist, or they'll somehow manage to get around the rule. In any case, I eager to see what happens.
