This is going to be stuck in my head all day now...
I kinda like it, though.

...I wanna say the concept is weird, but... this actually works really well for the music.
Also the guy seems to really be into it, they must all have so much fun.

I wonder if the dog in the video was the dog they were looking for to become a member a while back?
EDIT: Just reread the article and yes, it is the dog idol.

This is the stupidest thing I ever had to see. Something about this I just hate. Ofcourse its only my opinion but wtf. Its like, "our groups is so boring and don't have talent, we can't stand out so we'll add a muscle bound maid guy" "yeeaaaay"
I'm really really tired of seeing this so called idol group in the news.

The Lipsync or Playback is a bit of. But with this "Big bad Guy", someone will thing twice what to say If he stand in front of them. He is also the Big Strong "nii-sama" that give these Girls around him, the feeling of secure. And he love this kind of Life

Well... that was... something.
WHat blows my mind is that (for me) this whole thing was actually hurt by both the visuals and the subtitles, which make it come across as SO much more "crass". As a fan of bubblegum pop, the song actually started to grow on me, but if I watch the video, it just seems like a) it's INTENDED as an advertisement for weaboo tourists and b) it seems like a bunch of elements thrown together hoping at least one of them will appeal to anyone in the audience.
I dunno, I think the whole "idol" thing works by putting a thin veneer (sometimes tissue paper thin) of "innocence" on top of the obviously crass commercialism. This just seems to be disposing of any attempt to mask the crass-ness (and not ONLY because of the weird guy in a dress). Maybe I'd feel a little different if I hadn't been able to read the lyrics which basically amount to "Japan is awesome, buy our ****".
