''Nothing Happens: Season 2'' That's what I hear people call this anyway.

It's curious to see Theron to describe Chitoge's realization that she loves Raku as a "worrisome" development. Personally, I was delighted to see it. Without something like that, we really would be simply treading water. My concern is that that is exactly what we are going to see with Raku and Onodera: more endless nonsense about them *almost* connecting only to have some last second external intrusion get in the way. Pretty tired of that gong, let me tell ya.

What interested me about this episode was that moment when Tsugumi makes the symbolic "stolen kiss" move rather than kissing Raku directly on the lips. This sums up, quite beautifully I think, the way she's going to have to solve her love problem, showing her love for Raku indirectly while always ceding ground to the mistress she loves. The way she lowered her head into shadow while deciding about the kiss was very affecting, for me.
I do recommend the infuriating but very good manga for fans of Tsugumi.
Also, what's making the manga readable right now is the very real possibility that Shuu and Ruri are a whisper away from becoming a couple.

Wow, I've never actually seen the word "progressive" being used like that unironically. I guess some people do take this stuff seriously, though.

I know you have to be easily impressed to give high marks to a series like Nisekoi but this is just ridiculous.

I think the world of Nisekoi is one where crime syndicates are not only much nicer, but somehow much more influential too. Both the Mafia and the Yakuza in this series are played for laughs, depicted more as organizations bound by honor and loyalty and at each other's throats but never committing any crimes against those not also in the underworld, and they use their power to do humanitarian and philanthropic work. Hence, I never gave it a second thought that the CEO of a huge company is married to an mob boss who's rather open about it, since they're harmless to civilians.

I've lived in Santa Cruz, where if you're a business, whether or not you appear progressive can make the difference between if you survive there or not. Plenty of shoppers there prioritize the moral alignment and ethics of the business above all other things, including quality, price, customer service, and location.

Actually during this episode, when Hana was described I was like "Wow a high level business woman, what other anime have that.... uhh Madoka Magica? any body else...... uhhh?" And I couldn't think of any more so that made me a bit happy.
Hana doesn't really have the mind set of a CEO, she seems to be lacking this skill called delegation.

Why? Because harem series don't deserve praise when they actually do something right/well? Or did you mean something else?
Seriously, I'd like to see some elaboration on this, as apparently the quality of the series (or lack thereof) isn't as self-evident as you seem to think it is.

What I'm saying is that it isn't really all that impressive and it baffles me that people actually look at something like that and think 'Wow! That's amazing!'
We've seen the same story a million times and this one doesn't play out any differently. Why are we praising a series for putting a female in a generic male role when we should be praising show for, I don't know, good writing?

Or how about "Boys Over Flowers" Tsukasa Domioji's mother?

Well, the review doesn't seem to make it a defining aspect of this episode so it's all fine for me.

She has been mentioned before (episode 16). She just lives in the dorms of her middle school.
The chapter with the parrot came after her introduction, which is why she's there. It's also why she just walks off because she's not supposed to meet Raku yet.

She actually received more than a bit of screentime (and dialogue) in the 3rd OVA. She plants a flying kick to Raku's face, he recognizes her voice, and later he sees her completely naked at an onsen.
Haru might as well have already been a part of the regular cast at that point.

Yeah, the OVAs appeared to be set after - or in some instances, during - the events of season two. Not being current with the manga, I probably should have held off on watching them until being officially introduced to all the unfamiliar characters who appeared throughout.
