Will it actually be a Gundam series? Granted, I liked what I saw so far of "Build Fighters," but I know some purists would female dog about it.

I'll be happy when we have a legal stream and a home video license slated, because G-Reco has been treated like dirt here and frankly I'm not happy. Sunrise has major problems they need to iron out, not to mention they need to pitch Gundam to Toonami because frankly it's been long enough that the block has gone without its flagship robot series.

G-Reco being treated like dirt is a very appropriate thing.

Please don't be another shounen toy battler or another shit series! I'm fine with AU stuff, just try to be more Takahashi and less Tomino.

The next general release Gundam series is going to have to be a homerun at least within its home territory, I am not sure what type of set up will get a new generation of kids to wholesale mark out to Gundam but it is going to have to either try something new or do what the first season of Seed did on its release and "remake the original Gundam story for modern times", either way hopefully it will be engaging and a worthy watch.

So an announcement of a future announcement (not blaming ANN for this note, just making fun of Sunrise).
In all seriousness, anything from or tied to Universal Century will probably be welcomed by me.

At least it wasn't AGE. That was so bad it got the franchise kicked off the Tokyo Broadcasting System

I actually didn't mind AGE that much. The first arc wasn't too bad, but the second arc was arguably the best, especially when watched in movie form. Didn't watch the third arc, I used the movies which pretty much skipped over all that in favor of focusing more on Asemu and Zeheart.

Its probably to much to ask to get another good gundam show like G-Reco so soon. I'm still interested to see what this is going to be like.

You're a rare bird. Tomino admitted G-Reco was a complete mess.

AGE was doomed as soon as it was made public. Which is a shame because it had decent ideas and intentions but fell totally flat. And you have to admit that Try and Reco were a mess.
I wish all the best for the next series, but I feel that if they keep over saturating the market with Gundam, the franchise is going to end up like it did in the 90's.

Man, Gundam AGE sure is reviled. I'm almost done watching it and I can't say I hated it at all. Though I can agree it has its flaws. The final handful of episodes certainly felt particularly rushed to me.
