I have read the first volume of the novel series, and I would like to point out that there is a mistake in the article.

Sakurako is not Shōtarō's girlfriend. They are just acquaintances. I suppose there is some confusion over how to translate the term "kanojo" that came up in the synopsis section on the official website?

I admit, my knowledge of Japanese is nearly non-existent, but isn't "kanojo" the word used for girlfriend? I hear it often enough and see it translated that way in subs.

Or is this a weird state of "girlfriend" meaning either "female friend" or "significant other", like it can in English?

A person with a bone fetish kind of sounds like they have a thing for corpses. If that's the case, the usage of sugarcoated necrophilia has been with over and over.

"Kanojo" also means "she" or "her".

Looks more interesting that the dozen adaptations of LNs set in a medieval/game world.

I think that synopsis is written according to Tatewaki Shōtarō's claims, not in a neutral one, so having Kujō Sakurako written as his girlfriend is reasonable...
synopsis wrote:
Shōtarō is a normal high school student with a serious demeanor who likes to show off his girlfriend Sakurako.
