The July issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine is revealing on Thursday that it will publish a manga adaptation of author Shiori Ōta and illustrator Tetsuo's mystery light novel series A Corpse is Buried Under Sakurako's Feet. (Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru). Too Mizuguchi ("Kore wa Boku no Seigi da" 1-shot) is illustrating the manga, which will launch in the August issue on July 4.
The light novel series is also inspiring a television anime adaptation by studio TROYCA that will premiere this fall.
The novel series revolves around Shōtarō Tatewaki and Sakurako Kujyō. Shōtarō is a normal high school student with a serious demeanor. Sakurako is an extraordinarily beautiful woman in her mid-20s from a rich family who loves "beautiful bones." The two live in the city of Asahikawa in Hokkaido, and they get involved in various incidents regarding bones.
Ōta and Tetsuo debuted the series in 2013, and Kadokawa published the seventh novel in February. The series currently has more than 600,000 copies in print.
The light novel series has already inspired an online radio drama that starred Yūki Kaji as Shōtarō and Ami Koshimizu as Sakurako.
