Ahh, thanks for reporting on this, ANN! I couldn't fly all the way across the country to see the premiere, but at least I get to read about it here!

Isn't it a bit odd to make the protagonists the equivalent of Somalian pirates?
Anyways, I'm glad to hear about the involvement of Strike Witches staff like Takaaki Suzuki and such. It's like the real GONZO resurgence. I'm getting more and more interested in this show. |

Thanks for all of this Bamboo, I was only expecting a review of the episode, not a transcript of the Q&A as well so that was really nice.
And now I'm even more excited for the series, hoping that since episode one is done a full season in advance (and apparently looked gorgeous, even with a bit of rushing) that this will give Gonzo some extra time to make the whole series look great. |

Interesting that it takes place on Earth. spoiler[I wonder if it's a prequel to the original series that's going to show why Earth was abandoned or if it's a sequel that will show what happened after humanity returned to Earth.]

Going by the character designs on the website it's spoiler[after the first series, Dio looks older/more sane/doesn't have the mark on his forehead] And watch me be completely wrong about that

From what I've heard this is never revealed in the series, but apparently if you translate the Greek on the claudia gauge it reveals that the airships are being powered by spoiler[antimatter]. |

Same here, it's great to hear lots of positives coming out of this screening, still can't wait and am properly excited hearing things like how the characters are once again instantly likeable and the first episode's visual quality (and various aerial scenes described - like Wandering-dreamer said I hope they continue to have good lead time on the eps so they all look great), and that they apparently did successfully recapture the steampunk/visual image of Last Exile again for the new show. And it's great to have a confirmation that it's a Fall series, hopefully that indeed means it's getting a full 2-cours like the first given how in-depth the story information we're already hearing about as part of the series is shaping up. Thanks Bamboo for the great LE coverage! |
