Well didn't they say his other publication is on hold until September because its moving to another publication since the last one shuttered?
So I think he's just doing this in the mean time until he gets started back up again. |

Well this is a departure and a half from what she's known for. I hope it's good and gets an anime adaptation.

Doesn't she (the author) also do Joou-sama no Eshi manga? Don't tell me that it got canned?

Do you mean Joō-sama no Eshi? The magazine it publishes in, Comic High!, will end its serialization soon, so the manga will transfer to a different magazine, Monthly Action. Quite a few authors (manga and LN) had multiple series simultaneously - like Ōtaka Shinobu, who writes and draws the manga Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic and at the same time writes the spin-off manga Magi: Sinbad no Bōken (the illustrations are done by Ōtera Yoshifumi). |

additionally Ume Aoki, other than Hidamari sketch, also writes two other series, namely Mado no Mukougawa and Tetsunagi Kooni - and that's on top of her regular doujin releases [most explicitly yuri compared to the mainstream work] and her various one shot and short story series.
