Watch it. Watch it NOW.
You can skip Episodes 205-218 if you'd like, though.

You can skip Episodes 205-218 if you'd like, though. |
How about you skip the anime entirely and just read the manga.

The show gets better right after that. In my opinion, it has been consistently good to say its watchable(after 21), but thats all it will get from me. At times(more times than not), it fails to get me involved in the emotional parts.

I read the manga. And I can tell you right now, anyone who dropped the anime should watch it again.

2 years ago, in early-mid July 2013, Mashima Hiro released 6 (SIX!) chapters across 2 issues of Weekly Shōnen Magazine (3 and 3), to celebrate 7 years of serialization (to outsiders it might be an odd number to celebrate, but Mashima loves to utilize the number 7 - 7 years time-gap, 7 Dragon Slayers, most enemy guilds have 7 generals/warlords/elites/whatevs, Lucy's mother died in the year X777, the Dragons disappeared on July 7th, etc...)
Mashima is considered to be a fast-worker (again, he released 6 chapters across 2 issues and aside from magazine hiatuses, he hasn't been on a hiatus since, and long before that even), so I won't be surprised if he'll release 10 chapters.
BTW, those 6 chapters I mentioned? All were ~35 pages each and with lead pages fully-colored.

Wow, that's actually pretty cool. Fairy Tail is a good anime, so that's a plus.
