If this Reboot is even as close as good as that trailer than it will certainly be worthy of such a pedigree.

Don't just literally call it 'Reboot', though. Give it a catchier subtitle.

I can't tell if this is Flash or CG. Given it's French I'm inclined to say Flash.

Since Flash is a form of CG animation...

It definitely looks vector based at the very least.

I didn't have high hopes for this, and the trailer just reinforced that. It's such a shame 2D animation died in the west.

How many reboots is this now, fourth or fifth? Did the 1980 series ever come out on BD? I'd rather just watch that.

I'm not even sure if this is going to take off really well. The animation looks nice, but I'm not sure about the execution.

But... they already perfected Astro Boy in 2003.

Huh? Pretending Cartoon Network, Disney/Nick shows don't exist?

Astro Boy looks so... Different. Not sure I like it. I like the visuals though, other than AB himself.

Who knows what the show will actually be like, but from a visual standpoint, I think it looks beautiful. Backgrounds especially.

I'm usually all over french animation but the trailer didn't exactly inspire me. I'll still probably give it a shot when it comes out, but my hopes aren't high (though it looks better than the 2009 CGI movie, which I did see all of, and it's just so damn cookie cutter. Not like Food Fight bad or anything as at least this functions as a basic kids CGI flick, but its so basic and unmemorable that it's hardly worth existing)

While that's technically true, but I was thinking how it looks really cheap and ugly. It reminds me of those old eSurance commercials they used to air back in the day.

Astro Boy's one of those shows the west seems to like milking, like Voltron or Robotech. There was that CGI movie awhile back and now this. I'd personally stick with the 2003 Japanese series if you want a modern Atom. I think it hit all the notes perfectly. I can't think of a reason for this series to exist outside milking people's nostalgia. I doubt it will be enough of a re-imagining like Pluto was.
