Does anybody here know if ADV released any of the Hello Kitty shows in their original language with english subtitles? I kmow they're are loads of VHS and DVD of the dub, but did they ever release the original, or was it never thought of, much like some other good animes *cough*OjamajoDoremi*cough*

According to TRSI a boxset will be released in January with English dialogue, and Japanese dialogue with English subtitles. It doesn't appear to be the main series though.

As far as I've seen, no...
They never released it, and they probably did think of it though. But it would be (as they see it) a waste of time. I know this is true with 4kids and Doremi (or any other anime by them). They tried releasing uncuts of some anime but they didn't sell that well, so they basically gave up on releasing any more despite saying that they would. Too bad they based it upon those two... because I can honestly see One Piece uncut selling pretty well. But as far as I know with ADV, there is practically no demand at all to have Hello Kitty uncut (or Japanese with subtitles, don't know if it was cut), so I can see why they didn't bother with it... |
