Whilst we say it's illegal over here, the fact remains that one of the first things you're likely to see upon walking into the main hall of any big comic convention in Britain is a stall selling manga depicting highly sexually suggestive pictures of young girls, so.....

Thanks BBC, just tell the general public the worse aspect of Manga/Anime, while your at it why not have public screenings of Lolita Anime. At least they can ask people in the industry about this.

i really hate the BBC, notice how one sided the whole thing is, it makes out the whole industry is about child porn which only effects popularity in our countries but honestly i think they are idiots anyway.
Funny they happy to rob us blind they spew crap out their mouths.

I wont deny some stuff is morally questionable but where do they get off targeting a whole industry over such things.

because it's overshadowing the good?
If you are a person who doesn't know what anime/manga is and you hear it's something to do with encouraging child porn you will only think bad of it, it's ignorance really.

It's like a old man/lady who has never used a computer or the internet, they hear people break up a lot because of it and instantly will think of it bad.

Point is, it's grouping a group of genres with the whole industry and creating a forced image that, that is what anime/manga is - which is inaccurate.

Also the term 'child porn' of course will create a instant negative impression

Yep, people who don't know what manga and anime are will associate it with child porn because this is some of the main publicity it gets unfortunately.
