Man, that is really going to be one of the biggest otaku series of this winter season. I wonder it's going to be eclipsing and maintain all preorder rankings and beat all the series premiering in the winter.

I'm willing to bet plenty of folks had their mornings brightened upon seeing the KanColle ads.
I wonder what differences are present within the Eastern and Western versions of the ad?

Overrated anime of the season, already very obvious. It can be the worst anime of the year and it will sell hotcakes due to it's source...makes me a bit sad

May I ask, why would Kantai Collection becoming a big hit be a "sad" thing? The show's not even out yet.

You don't seen even a single episode and think that it's overrated. Oh-oh, here we go again.
I certainly don't know what the animators show, but for me just a normal anime based on the Kancolle is just enough.

This isn't the first time Kancolle made news on mainstream Japanese outlets but it's nice to know that a late night series has a certain chance of going at least slightly mainstream.

Even putting the usual cute-moeblob-stuff part aside, I still think this franchise has one of the dumbest premises I've ever seen. "Hey look these ships are actual girls in some inexplicable sense!" It literally hurts my brain.

Mecha-musume as genre created LONG before the Kancolle, you know.

True, but that's kind of damning with faint praise.  I mean, I know there's a long-standing "anthropomorphize ALL the things!" phenomenon, which is generally benign if sometimes a bit weird, but when you take it as far as the cute girls being the actual things at the same time...I dunno, maybe it's just me.

You're wrong. Cause they're isn't the actual things (the ships) in terms of universe. They're just the girls with the ship equipment, named after the ships.

I'm pretty sure you can see the differences between the Western and Eastern ads in the pictures, different character and backgrounds are used.
