Oh, wow. A "plot"-heavy IS episode. That will be "so" different than a regular IS episode.

I wonder who people find more dense/lame: Ichika or To Love-Ru's Rito.

It's not really accurate to just describe it as a "fanservice" episode. Obviously there's fanservice in it, but it's centered around an attack on the school so the situation is a bit more serious than what the article implies.

I must be missing something. Rito knows the girls like him, problem is he liked Haruna originally which is why he was not doing anything with Lala, and is starting to consider a harem in Darkness. He is not dense, and he is a normal human, so can't help but look "lame" against super powered aliens girls.

Remind me again why this series is so popular in Japan despite it's nonexistent plot, trope-filled characters with no personality, ultra dense protagonist, and horrible balance of cliche fanservice with actually good fights; I assume it's because otaku are so focused on the "waifu" bait that they can't see the turd in front of them.
Anyway, speaking as someone who read the light novels and saw the show in high school out of boredom, did they really need to adapt the world purge arc? It seems like a pointless endeavor given the fact that a doujinshi can just make a hentai doujin involving them and it would be shorter and more satisfying than this mess of, to use more crude language, cockteasing.

Oh I wish I could believe that but, having read the novel, there is no tension at all. We know the Orimuras will win and the school will be safe so the only thing left is the fanservice which I have commented on already.

That goes for pretty much every story ever: we know the good guys will win 90% of the time.
You claim to have read the novels so I don't know how you can say the plot is non-existant. There's been one especially once Phantom Task showed up. This arc in particular gives some insight into Chifuyu and forces Ichika to start realising some things regarding the girls.
Unfortunately the 2nd anime season really did make a mess of things.

Yes, good guys will win 90% of the time but we usually have some sort of growth or challenge. Ichika gets his IS, proves himself decent from the start, gets an upgrade and then it just continues from there
as for the non-existant plot, lets face it, the show only cares about its fanservice and often sidelines the serious stuff for long stretches. If you are going to make a fanservice show, either integrate the fanservice into the narrative or make the plot focus on the fanservice and harem antics. Don't have the two seem detached.

I think Tabane on her own adds more than enough. She creates the IS, manipulates world events, play with Phantom Task like they are kids, is apparently a physical superhuman and not just a genius, her weird obsession with Chiyfu, etc.
I mean its far from perfect, and the plot it a little non existent, but its also harem. The plot of any harem is ultimately will the MC chose a harem or a single girl or no one, and if he chooses who does he pick. Everything else is really on a setting to move that forward.

I just wished Ichika chose someone to have a relationship with. It annoys me more and more as new episodes are released... That's the problem with most harems for me.

there are tons of those harem/fan service anime and those are not popular or not as popular as IS. just Waifu bait with action doesn't work.
the most important part is conquest cute girls from other countries

Then why would Rito Rito confess to Lala first? I think it'd make sense if he confessed to Haruna first if he he truly loved her.
I think Rito is dense/stupid in the sense that he still hasn't figured out who is his true love between Haruna and Lala (On the AnimeSuki forums for To Love-Ru Darkness, I have given enough indication that I ship him with Lala).

Sad to say, Infinite Sratos light novel got 9 volumes. It can't produce a 3rd season.

Maybe it's just me, but Charlotte dresses as a French Maid is a bit too cliche, because she's actually from France.
