That's totally bad business to delay it that long. But they're probably gonna try to sell off as many 3-in-1s and/or boxsets as they can of Naruto and offload inventory.

Given the series' popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if Kishi did some one-shots in the next few years.
It is nice to know the ETA for this series' final volume.

If Naruto is the end of an era...I wonder what One Piece will be.

Volume 73? There are only enough uncompiled chapters, including the remaining unreleased few, to warrant a volume 72.

Hopefully the final chapter is printed in color in the volume.

Well it's not a surprise. I'm not sure how often they release each volume, but even if they released a new book every 2 months the last volume would still come out at the end of next year. I think the pace is good.

As nice as it would be, I wouldn't bet on it. Viz isn't in to doing that.

Huh, and I thought that Naruto would've had a faster release schedule. Since it is such a famous series, I thought that its releases were similar to Fairy Tail. FT comes out monthly or (sometimes) bi-monthly from Kodansha USA.
When I started (then stopped) getting Naruto, I never caught up to the newest release, so I never ended up finding out what the gap in release was.

The Apocalypse. At the end of the world, there will be cockroaches and One Piece.

Eyeshield 21's full colour chapter was printed in colour so it can happen (& Eyeshield 21 had far lower sales than Naruto). It's mostly a matter of whether Japan does it in their volume release or not or not as Viz pretty much have to mirror the Japanese releases.

Viz were releasing about 4 volumes of Naruto a month at one point which was pretty crazy. But as they caught up with Japan it eventually slowed down to once every 2 or 3 months.

I have the whole series of Eyeshield and none of my volumes have color pages. The only color pages I have seen from Viz in a volume is in the last VizBig volume of Rurouni Kenshin where the few-page epilogue chapter that had been originally released in color in Japan was included in color in that volume as well. Color pages are expensive to print, which would be why Viz was able to do that for Rurouni Kenshin but not for a full chapter of Eyeshield 21 as the chapter of the former was somewhere around five pages long. They won't be printing color pages of the last Naruto chapter(s) in the volume because of the cost, I guarantee it. If they do, then hurray, but don't get your hopes up.
