Would think that with these two mistakes that something is bound to happen soon. Unless both companies had really, really big Food Wars fans that happened to gain control of online posting resources and put up anime news due to their own wishful thinking.

Personal opinion: If Kana Hanazawa gets casted as the protagonist again, I will FLIP. I cannot stand her being in every single show ever created.

IT IS TIME! IT IS TIME! IT IS TIME!
But please, by all things good, please get a good studio and a good director to do it!
Don't just give it to just any greedy douches!

One solution is to mute the Japanese audio and watch the show.

Read the post carefully:
Quote: | The main Gofuku branch of the Yajimaya bookstore chain briefly reported on Twitter on Tuesday that a television anime adaptation of Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki's comedy manga Shokugeki no Sōma (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Sōma) has been green-lit for next year. The post has since been removed. |
Quote: | French publisher TONKAM mentioned an "amine" of Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma manga in June, but later notified ANN that no anime was planned and changed its post. |
So, no anime was planned for this cooking manga.

Right after I read the one shot, I purchased volumes 1-2 and 3-5 are preordered. Happy it's getting a anime.

Hmm, chapter count has now hit the 90's. We're getting into the range where we should expect an anime announcement.
It's possible, but not guaranteed, that we'll hear something by the end of this week. For next week's issue (#49), Souma's getting the lead and cover. We're approaching its 2 year anniversary, but specifically, it didn't actually start until issue #52 of 2012 (Nov 24).

Shokugeki no Soma is one of my favorite still running manga. Plus like others have said it is almost 2 years old, for a weekly series that means its about anime time. I was hoping it would be announced around chapter 100 but it might be sooner than expected.
I just hope it goes Nisekoi over World Trigger. Maybe Madhouse will adapt it? I'm okay with pretty much any studio that can give it a proper animation budget and isn't Toei or A1 Pictures!
