After all these years and all the false starts, it'll feel good to finally be disappointed by Turn A Gundam.

I feel much the same, Cyclone, but even I can appreciate that this is a big freaking deal and a major feather in RightStuf's cap as far as licenses go. It makes some sense since they have a proven track record for being able to market older shows, put out quality releases of said shows, & would be able to shoulder any losses from less-than-popular titles from the store, so having to put out the whole franchise wouldn't hurt their bottom line the way it would with most anime distributors.
It's also a big deal that a RightStuf release will have a brand-new dub. It's been years since they released a non-license rescued show with a dub, and it's always good to see NYAV Post getting more work. |

This is very good news. Rightstuf does a great job, and they'll make sure Gundam is well-represented here.
I hope Turn A got a dub in some form but I doubt it. Still, it's nice that Turn A will finally come out Stateside. |

Great news. I recently imported the first raw BD Box of Turn A (thinking that we would never see a release here), but I will gladly get TRSI's set.
To me Turn A Gundam was the only other great Gundam series that needed a release in R1. The release of the Origin is intriguing. I also wonder if TRSI will release these animes on BD; I am assuming no. |

"Sunrise partnering with Right Stuf to release future unreleased Gundam titles" Turn, Double Zeta, X, Victory, ... AGE .. maybe (ehhh ..), Build Fighters, as well as the 2014/015 stuff Gundam can once again keep my wallet busy for quite a while |

There goes any chance of consistency that I'd been hoping for; If RightStuf is going to be in-charge of getting anything a dub, I highly doubt they'll use Ocean for anything.
Regardless, this article's wording makes it sound like RightStuf hasn't actually licensed anything, and is just in charge of distribution. This still gives me hope. |

Guessing that "mystery licensor" would be Funimation or Sentai, since they are the ones that Sunrise is giving most of the Bandia rescues to. TBH I'm actually very surprised that Sunrise decided to go the Rightstuf route for releasing the older series rather than giving them to Funimation or Sentai. Funi or Sentai would be likely to give it a much wider and easily avaiable release, maybe even a stream in Funi's case, while an RS release would only be available to order online. I mean I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen any of RS's dvd releases at any of my local stores, leading me to believe that they are probably exclusive to their website, with maybe a few copies available on Amazon as well.
Either way, still glad to see more Sunrise/Bandai rescues. Not that there was really any worry that this one might not be rescued (it IS Gundam after all). I'm assuming this is the case as well. With Bandai having already previously released it in NA, it really wouldn't make sense to spend all that money on redubbing it. If Sunrise had wanted something like this for the series they would have probably gone with a much bigger licensor. |
