It's not a 3DCG. Just some strange use of shadings. But still looks much worser than original

Yeah, I also found that something seemed off with the animation. Though, I can't say that I dislike it or like it...it's just there. Not off putting, and since this seems like a show that won't have action scenes in it, I don't think that it'll be something that bothers me.
If there was an abundance of fast paced scenes, it could impact my view of the show as things just seem off. I think that some of it has to do with the shading, but there were a couple of instances where the mouths of characters like too 2D when compared to everything else. |

I haven't played the games either...because they aren't translated in English.

Seems more like they are rotoscoping the 3D models even down to the awkward look of characters from certain angles

Wait, is this CG or 2d? Some of the scenes and movements looked CGI, but some of them looked hand drawn. It doesn't look half bad though. Don't know anything about the series but for some reason the animation has me intrigued.
