I find the Moomin... hypnotic. The story lines, the things they deal with, it's just all so... captivating. For instance the episode where the young Elisia learns to "witch walk" which is basically when she walks over water. It can also a bit sacreligious like that but that just adds to the charm IMO.

The scenes are, like, heavenly, as in that's what I'd like heaven to be like.

So is anyone here a fan of the Moomin?

Wow, in all my time here this is the first time I've ever seen anybody mention Moomin Shocked I watched the series, although I don't know which version cause there seems to be quite a few of them. However I really like the enchanting stories involved, and this is a series that I could watch over again and again.

Ahhh, the moomins. That takes me back, it used to show on UK TV when I was a youngun. It's a really good series although as I kid I also read a lot of the original books which are also awesome (though a bit different.)

There was a thread about it a while back about how Finnair airplanes have all the characters from the moomins on the sides of some of their planes. (Check wikipedia for a picture of it.)

I've got a snuffkin money box sitting on my speaker right now.

I don't know anything about newer versions or other versions of the moomins that might be showing nowadays, its not been on for a while here...

Yeah I'm from the UK aswell and used to watch the ones on BBC1. They stopped showing them awhile back, so I just use youtube. Shame all the best ones have been removed now. >.<

I was nice to the user who used to upload those episodes, so she sent me a whole bunch of Moomin DVDs for free in the post! Very Happy

If I see any episodes emurge on youtube I'll post them up here!

I remember the book, was it a book? I live in the U.S, so did it even come out here? I could be mistaken.

The original books were written by Tove Jansson, like this one.

They have a slightly different feel than the anime (both are good though!)

I remember those! I use to read them at the library all the time. They were really good and funny too.
