This seems very different from the sort of thing that Shinbo usually does. I wonder what his unique style can bring to this? I've been missing his style as of late.
Although I wish he would adapt the rest of Monogatari or Kizumonogatari.

Hopefully, Komatsu can do better in this series than her role in Heroman
which I felt was a bad performance.
An erotic-situational cooking comedy? This could start of a new trend.

Well, I don't know anything about this series, so not sure how similar or not it will be, but Shinbo directed Hidamari Sketch which was an adaptation of a Manga Time Kirara manga and has a character with an appetite (even has an endcard from Makoto Kawai, the author of Happy Cooking Graffiti, highlighting that in one of the episodes).

Is that the only role you've heard of hers? It's been a long while since I've heard Heroman, so can't judge it particularly at this point, but it was her first major role and she's had plenty of good roles since IMO. She was pretty sweet as Saika and Miuna.

I don't think that is what they meant. I think what they meant was, the food displays and descriptions are sensually enticing. Kind of like Black Butler, except for the current season because Ciel is slumming it so we don't get to see two or three over-the-top meals described in exquisite detail per episode.

It's been a while since I've seen an anime with Asuka Oogame in the main cast. As for the anime itself, I can't wait for the droolworthy ecchi and food.

Not sure what are you talking about. They are adapting the rest Monogatari series. Shinbo is nothing special. He does everything. This guy did Maria Holic, Dance in the Vampire, Nisekoi, Natsu no Arashi!. He got lucky on landing good stories. It's about the writers not Shinbo.

The problem with Shinbo is that he stamps his 'style' all over things that really don't need it. Mekakucity Actors is a prime example of that which ended up looking like Monogatari lite, except without the witty dialogue.
However if this is something more in the line of Hidamari Sketch then it could be OK, although it's probably a pity that the team that did the last season of Minami-ke are not doing this. If you want to see food porn go watch that!
