I would have liked to see what happened after the second series. It might be better for this season to be watched as a marathon rather than weekly so that any repeated or slow stuff can be skipped.

They screened the second episode of the series at the event you can attend if you bought the BD box.
It was good. I don't think you'll be disappointed, Hope.

The second season was kinda... good... uh.. in it's own way... Ha ha who I am kidding, it was pretty bad. I've read the manga and this really was one of the better arcs. I hope they're just saving their budget for all the awesome circus tricks and stuff.

BB II (Second season) has the same ANN voting rating as the first one, so Hope is completely wrong on BB II; it was a very good anime. And I am not talking about "BL" part of it, I am talking about the rest: the story, the magic, the cool factor. (Of course, nothing is perfect, but to put that anime aside just because it was a slightly more overt shonen-ai, yaoi or whatever it is called, is not fair.)

I was never a fan of the original series or the manga so I'm going to go into this new series with low expectations. The only part of the franchise I actually liked was season 2. That said, I still have to admit that as far as season 1 is concerned, undoing the ending for the sake of making season 2 was artistically unwise. It would have been better to make season 2 about an entirely new character who makes a pact with Sebastian like Ciel had but whatever.

Um, no it would not have been. The fan backlash would have been crazy. It was crazy enough when people thought the series wasn't going to have Sebastian or Ciel. I mean, Toboso sensei received THREATS over it.

I meant from an artistic perspective. It would have allowed a continuation while not ruining what the first season achieved. I honestly think artists should develop more balls and not crumble every time the fans throw a hissy fit. I mean it would suck if any series that has a popular character decided to revive them because the fans are pissed.

Except the "artists" depend on sales fro the fans to make a living. ^^; If the fans end up not buying the DVDs because the staff took an untested "artistic" approach and threw away characters that fans love instead of giving fans more of what they love, the series is going to end up being a failure and they lose money. There are many good reasons why they should give the fans what they want.
