what i dont like is that they finish almost all the anime I've seen entirely way to soon. the endings are ok nothing like the begining epidsodes. they need to create more of the series instead of the ova. like for instists samuria champloo they could have made so many more episodes for that anime. i like the fact that they make movies for the series hell if you like that anime and it has 1hr and 45mins of if thats awesome but they just need to make them longer in my opinion.and another one is love hina that series kick a$$ you know what im sayin g homie mad skillet
in closing they need to make more of the anime at least thats what i think Jabberwockysuperfly out

What do you mean that you want more? You didn't think that SC was complete? I thought that the ending was alright,
hoping for a clash between Jin and Mugen. but do you mean you want more Movie or OVA after certain series end?

Personally, I don't like a series that drags on. For instance, I have no interest in things like Innuyasha, Naruto, etc. and I thought that Samurai Chanploo was as long as it should have been; I do not see it being any longer without becoming dull. I mean, they gave good closure to each character, and they had quite a lot of fun/action-packed/emotional/etc. adventures along the way, it was good as it was (though there is that PS2 game out that has another adventure/encounter that takes place before the end of the series, you could check that out).
Also, I don't know what animes you've been watching, but most of the ones in my collection stay consistent through the end and others even get far better towards the ending episodes (I.E.: Burst Angel, .hack//SIGN, and Samurai 7).

I think the main difference is that unlike here in America, they plan their shows to be exactly 'this many' episodes and then end. It's not like "We'll start this show open-ended, see how it does, and then if it does good we'll keep making it until people get tired of it." That's how most shows are here, but over there, at least as far as anime is concerned, they tend to say "Okay, this show is going to be on for one 26-episode run" or "one thirteen episode run" and that's it. They know that before they start.
Shows that go on forever like Inuyasha, Naruto, DBZ, and Bleach are exceptions to the rule, and while I too wish some series were a little longer than they are, I have to agree that when a series drags on too long it usually begins to go downhill.

I would have to say that I too, don't like to see an anime carry on too long. The whole "too much of a good thing" cliche comes into play. Of course, there have been a number of series I would have loved to have seen more of (Hikaru no Go and Initial D come to mind along with a number of others). That being said, I would much rather something end while I'm still into it then to see it get to the point where I can't even watch it (like naruto).

I think that it's really about having the material there, certain series are just being stretched out because hey it's the new hot title so were going to make go for a really long time.
Personally my favorite show ever is Monster with 74 episodes and I couldn't take a single one out of there, it's a prime example to me of when an anime studio has a plan of what they are going to do with a series and they make it happen.

Options:
1) Read the manga/novels (or play the game) that the anime was based on, if possible
2) Move on to a different series
3) Give up on anime, because quite a few series have endings that aren't 100% perfect and conclusive

Wow, that is a bad opener.

While I'm not having too much trouble understanding that post, I've gotten some complaints about it being "not so readable." Please work on it for future posts. Thanks.
