Press Release so I'll doubt Ill get an answer, but does this come with 5.1 Japanese audio? I dont know if the Japanese version does, but I have noticed that a lot of anime that DO have 5.1 Japanese audio in Japan that get dubbed end up having 2.0 Japanese and 5.1 English. This is honestly the biggest reason I hate dubbed releases. I dont care for dubs, but I don't mind the option (even though it makes the releases take longer, and theoretically cost more), but the loss of 5.1 in the language I prefer is the biggest factor for me.

If you don't mind me asking why would you think it's the dubs fault for there not being 5.1 Japanese audio on western releases? Maybe Japan pleases the restriction on the companies. And what do you mean by "theoretically cost more"? If you mean without dubs the releases would be cheaper I don't agree. The cost of sub only releases verses that of dual audio releases are not all that much different. Regardless I do hope you get your wish of this having a Japanese 5.1 audio. Have you tried asking Nas America on twitter? |

According to the box (and confirmed by my audio system) it has LCPM 2.0 for both Japanese and English on Blu-ray. Dolby Digital 2.0 for both on DVD. (It is a combo pack release).

He didn't say dubs are the cause of the lack of 5.1 tracks. He's upset that dubs get them and subs don't. Which I agree is bullshit. If it exists, it should be included.
It isn't a dub vs sub issue. Its an issue of anime companies not getting the 5.1 track or if they do, not releasing it. |

And I never made it one I asked a question base on their statement. |

I think most TV series do not get 5.1 sound in Japan. I think what is happening is that the North American companies are creating the dub in 5.1. The dub voices are original in NA, all they have to do is some audio processing to the sound effects and music portion. I suspect is depends on the company and what the licensor permits them to do.

Ok since you want to start something Kougeru stated:
And ASKED Kougeru two questions which I still stand by but that's ok because you feel the need to take this in a direction it was never intended to be in. It's early in the morning for me and I have plans for the 4th of July therefore this is my last reply to you on this matter. If you're in the US happy 4th to you good day, good night I am done. |

Just got the standard edition. It kind of annoys me when companies put blu rays in DVD size boxes. I guess it's silly, but I like the boxes to be the same size on my shelf. At least it's not those oversized boxes that NIS seem so fond of. NIS releases are usually good quality, but I wish they would change their packaging strategy.

Pretty much. This is what Justin had to say about it on one of the Answerman columns:
I used to get fairly annoyed myself when a release didn't come with a 5.1 Japanese track--I prefer dubs, but if I don't like what I'm hearing I got no problem with going to subs--until I read that article. |

That is such a huge misconception. Look at KLK. First volume came out in January in Japan. The first volume is coming here in less than 2 weeks, so a 6 month difference. That's 2 months before the final volume in Japan. It's getting dubbed. Likewise, Valvrave S1 took more than a year to release, with no dubbed version. Oh and VVV S1 costs about $120. |
