Sherlock is very popular in China.
"Sherlock Holmes gets 69 MILLION viewers in China - despite it being BANNED for being 'too risque' by Chinese authorities" |

I've always found it somewhat odd how popular Steven Moffat's side project to Doctor Who in Japan is considering that Doctor Who itself has barely any presence in Japan. (The Japanese dub of the modern series was apparently cancelled after the second season?)

Holmes/Watson slash fiction practically started the genre. I recall once seeing a contestant on Jeopardy claim she was working on a doctorate in literature based on the thesis that Holmes and Watson were a romantic couple! (All I could think was "Dr. BL"!)

69+ million is the amount of viewers even various individual American cable shows might want. I wish that was the amount for anime here.

Well, I guess people will have other way to wait until the hiatus is over.
Wow, so this tells me a lot of people in China has some form of anti-censorship software (ie: freegate). Nice. One more thing that got my attention from the article:

Okay I'm just going to laugh, poor Sherlock! It can never catch a break from Hiatus's! Not even in the world of manga will it be given mercy! I love the show though,
