One Week Friends is dark horse of the season imo and definitely recommended. Ah, I was hoping Jojo Stardust Crusaders would rank a bit higher. Nice to know Haikyuu taking a high ranking spot in that poll though.

And, alas, I still can't understand why people like "Irregulars...". But tastes differ, I guess

I think it's a little overhyped to the point where people want to see good things wherever they can.
Personally I think NGNL is doing better in that regard, even though it wasn't as well known from before.
And I agree with Stark, One Week Friends is playing the role that Mikakunin had in the last season.

Irregulars at the Magic Highschool is actually really good, quite a lot of explanations of everything that happened and not just like, uh ok, that happened because it happens now let's move on to the next scene! Also, there is background story of the brother and the sister which will explains why they are so close to one another. Then there is the story of the discrimination of the school and this guy just came in as an irregulars and just turned the school upside down even though he is considered "weak". But turned out he was so strong that he can beat anyone in the school and even broke down a whole organization that were against discrimination.

Just be happy that these polls do not represent the sales.

It's competently put together, has a nice budget and is bland as hell, which means it has broad appeal and is easier to sell.

I'm watching 6 shows in total from both lists, and a lot of my facorites of the season appear on the guys list. Nice to see NGNL doing so well even if it is really overrated.
I hope they all receive good sales, although my absolute favorite show of the season Hitsugi no Chaika is absent from both lists...

I'm glad One Week Friends appears to be pretty popular, in the mens list its the only show in the top 5 I give a crap about (I too thought Jojo would rank a bit higher) and as unsurprising as it is Haikyu ranked #1 with females (and Mahouka #2 the F?) it is nice to see that do well too.
but seriously Mahouka scored #2 with females? I understand being #1 with males but...

Black Bullet, Mekaku City Actors, Kamigami no Asobi and Nanana's Buried Treasure are doing rather bad in the pre-order rankings, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I thought Love Live! would be higher on both lists, but I'm not surprised Haikyuu!! took the top spot for women.

Mahouka is absolute dynamite in terms of plot, animation, and characters. It was a little slow getting started but ever since it got through the mandatory light novel adaptation info dump it's been consistently exciting me every week with it's creative sci-fi take on 19th century class warfare and characters that have depth of personality as opposed to being one note archetypes. It competely deserves the top spot.
