Some of you may have caught our introduction post. For those of you who may have missed it, I’ll do a quick summary.
I’m FUNiRepBlue and my partner and cubicle mate is FUNiRepRed and we’re from FUNimation Entertainment! We wanted to establish a direct contact with fans about questions, and ideas you guys have on FUNimation and our initiatives. We’re here to answer questions and on occasion ask for your feedback. This leads me into my next point. Feedback time! A week ago on October Friday the 13th (spooky!) we sent out an email to our fans about ‘Calling your Cable Company’ about the FUNimation Channel. Here’s the link to what the email said: http://www.funimationchannel.com/index.cfm?page=helpFUN For those of you who received it and either emailed or called we’d love to know what happened, know what you said, what they said, etc. Also feel free to post any ideas you guys might have on how to spread the word and get the Funimation Channel added to your local cable service. So let us know how it went! ~FUNiRepBlue~ |

I'm glad to see another rep here on this forum. I've said it before and I'll say it again that Funimation has some of the best coded DVDs out there.
I love the bilingual songs on Kiddy Grade and Blue Gender. The alternate angles on the credits is really neat, especially for the flashy Samurai 7 script and the goofy Moon Phase credits. I often have a hard time with kanji names and often screw up between K and G, or shi and ji, etc. when trying to translate, but I do like to see the kanji too. The option of subtitles and dubtitles is neat for me to compare the translations. The small white subtitle font is by far my favorite subtitles. The 5.1 mixes on the 2.0 Japanese titles is a nice touch. Although Neo 6 and PLII do an okay job with surround emulation, the in house center channel dialog seperation and LFE crossover tends to sound better. The Digipaks for Trinity Blood, Speed Grapher and Basilisk are well made. I love the textured covers for Basilisk and Trinity Blood. The books that come with Moon Phase, Burst Angel, Fullmetal, and the above three titles are amazing. I really love the horizontal books for Samurai 7. The double sided DVD covers are really nice, so I was sad that Moon Phase didn't have one, though the silver text and postcards are nice. I've got a couple of small questions. Why do various series have different episode titles on the dub. I noticed this on the Galaxy Railways and Speed Grapher as well as a few others. I might not have even noticed if it were not for the fact that I watch the English angle option with the subtitles on, so I see both titles simultaneously. The other thing that I find odd is the three lines of the same text when multiple people are saying the same thing. It's not really a big issue with me. I just find it funny when the subs say "Roger. Roger. Roger" when I would hope one line would get the idea across. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of most of the Funimation titles out there and have recently (last night) taken advantage of Right Stuf's current Funi sale. It is interesting that it almost overlaps the previous sale back in May since I'm still waiting on the FMA Movie and Lupin 1-5 brick from that sale. |
