Really wish this manga would get (re-)released over here, I've really enjoyed what I've read so far. Despite it's subject matter, it's actually a lot further from 'explicit' than one might guess, at least from my point of view. It definitely edges closer to cute than sexy.

I can't believe it's been going on for that long. "Live and learn", I guess.
This is kind of like that Sakura Diaries sequel that's coming out soon: I can't believe it's happening, given how old the franchise is, but oh well.

They only released 4 huge volumes. I know this because I own the 4 that were released, plus I recommended them for the library here. I recall there being preorders for a 5th but it never happened.
But damn 60 vols? Hell he's beat out Miura (Berserk) and Takada (3 x 3 Eyes). But I'm looking forward to this OVA.

Awesome! This is a great manga and the previous OVAs are pretty good too.

They released four, of which I have the first three with the fourth proving far too elusive. And technically, we got 8 volumes worth of chapters as each large book contained 2 volumes. But either way, certainly not enough.
The writing is choppy and the art is stiff but has a certain charm to it I can't explain. Shame we can't get some of the later volumes, as I like the art style Aki develops later on more than the earlier vols.
edit: beaten. Also:

Yep. There was a 4th. I even had to check our system to confirm that we had them all before writing the above post. I have so much stuff I tend to lose track of what's in my house. And to be honest that 4th volume almost seemed like it wouldn't happen because not many retailers had covers for it. But by some miracle it was released. Don't know why TP never published any more. Kind of reminds me of Oishinbou or Drops of God. Long series but we're only going to publish what we're willing to and the fact that it's a niche title. But I think TP might have taken on more than they could chew.

WHAT??? O.O Sakura Diaries...ugh. Awful, awful series, both anime and manga. I threw my long-held but not-watched copy of the "uncut edition" of the anime in the garbage, directly after watching it. For fans of the series, I can guarantee you U-Jin is going to ruin it with the sequel, as that's what he did to Angel, which had a perfect ending that needed to be left right where it was, let the reader make up the rest. He shat all over it in the worst way possible with the very premise of the sequel, so I put it in the same trash bin as Angel Heart (although that one appears to be good since it was around so long, and Hojo backtracked by calling it "alternate universe).
Anyway, as for Futari Ecchi, I remember sort of liking it, but getting another OVA all these years later is quite random. Seems like the franchise is a bit bloated, especially with the 60 or whatever volumes...
