Why wasn't this article updated 3 days ago instead?
I have no idea why you'd wait 3 days and then post the second half of the news.

On topic: the new girl is cute. I'm glad that the sequel isn't a TV series. since there's not much else you can do with the story.
A prequel would be much better.

I hope the OAV proves successful so that we can have more Gargantia! It just feels like so much more could be told, and so many things could develop.

And just like KidaYuki exclaimed, I too would like to see some romance Anime exclamation

I'm actually ecstatic to see a sequel. I just want to see more of the happy Ledo with his new lease on life... and hopefully some Ledo/Amy.

If only the ANN "official forum accounts" had something marking their "official-ness" as there's nothing distinguishing this from the post of anyone with an account. The subscribers get a star with some text under their name, would it kill y'all to adapt that for yourselves?

I can't say that I'm interested in this one, not unless it gets back into the action. Ledo's tale of becoming a pansy in the hippie commune (kinda smacks of L Ron Hubbard's floating cult compound) of Gargantia did not interest me and if this OVA turns into a "slice of life" featuring a now-completely-castrated Ledo eking out a pathetic existence in said compound then I will lose all hope in the UroButcher.

Definitely ready for more, would have liked another full series, interested to see where they go though and hopefully it'll be good.

Good to see Ledo doing what I expected after the series, working with Bellows and her team.

Agreed, I'm glad it's a sequel. Also, while it's true a prequel would have a lot of interesting stuff to choose from too and it would be cool if they do one too, I don't really agree with the previous post saying there's not plenty more they could do going forward as well; even just on the planet since I'd imagine there's plenty of other groups to meet and have conflicts with and things under the ocean to salvage, either or both (or other things) of which could start bigger things again.
