Why are they releasing 2 versions of One Piece? I have the other version where there are 8 volumes out now, up to like episode 192. I guess these are seasons and my is a collection?

Pangea - they first release them in 12 episode sets labeled "seasons" but in multiple parts, then do a second release many months later in 24 or so episode sets and label them "collections". Collections are kinda like a SAVE or Anime Classics release, much cheaper if you can wait. They are the ones I get and the ones you have.

I wonder if that phrasing means we might finally start getting BD releases. Seems odd that CN/AS would make a big deal about how they were skipping ahead to the episodes in HD upon resuming broadcast, yet we are still only seeing DVD releases of 8-year-old seasons.

Japan just started releasing BDs of the TV episodes of One Piece, and that was only with the start of Punk Hazard, which is a long way away from Thriller Bark. I strongly doubt they would let FUNimation release BDs of episodes that do not have a BD release in Japan.
