I love it how every time a character hits the ball, the background art colorfully explodes. From looking at the character designs I would say that the basic outline and Taiyo Matsumoto's idea are well preserved, but Nobutake Ito added a little bit of his own idiosyncrasies(like those big,fat lips, rugged lines and scratchiness). Great stuff, spring cannot come sooner!

it looks bad. I love sports anime, but not this one.
Luckily, there are many sports anime for us to watch.

Masaaki Yuasa is the man, and no one can convince me otherwise. Looking forward to him taking on the sports genre, of all things.

Masaaki Yuasa and Yasuhiro Yoshiura are pretty much the two directors currently where I'll watch whatever they put out. Neither has failed me yet. So I'm glad that not only is Yuasa in the director's chair for another series, but it's for Noitamina as well.

Should I be reminded of Kemonozume? Same designer?

(...I think that was the title)
