I'm surprised to see that The World God Only Knows sold so well, considering the first two seasons sales were kind of a bust...
Maybe it will get a fourth season after all?

It sold 1.5k. How is that 'selling well'?

Well this is season 3 I guess they know what to expect sales wise. I guess it's doing something right.

What the hell? Something like Wanna Be The Strongest in the World tops the fall charts? Guess torture porn really does sell.

"tops the fall charts"
>sells 1000 copies
Dude, please.
I'm more amused by Galilei Donna selling a Fractale-1

Yeah! I got the Amazon JP version. Give me a high five for getting this to the top in time for Kurisumasu.

Rather bizarre that the Steins;Gate movie didn't have higher first-week sales. The TV series averaged above 15k and a BD box set released just this year sold almost 7.5k itself. Unless it's a compilation film I'm baffled by how it didn't do at least 40k considering it's a much smaller hit on otaku wallets and there are plenty of more fans of the game. Did Robotics;Notes drive away some of their fans?

Well, since it is simply an advertisement for the manga, which is the superior version anyways, as long as manga sales were solid any sales of the dvd are good sales. And compared to the other releases this week, it sold pretty well.

Even if it is to advertise the manga(almost all adaptations are), it still doesn't change the fact that it did horrible in BD/DVD sales. Which is what this news thread is about.

It will be one of the worst selling titles of the year, and you think it sold well? It just happened to go on sale in a slow week. It would never have ranked on the pre-elim list on a busy week(like the last week of november, or the last week of December).

But no one cares what the anime sold. It was purely bait to get people to buy the manga. It could have sold 7 disks and as long as the manga sales increased, served its purpose. Disk sales are a false indicator of success or failure for this type of show.

That. Is. Not. My. Point.
This is about BD sales, I was pointing out that 1.5k is not 'doing well'.
How it did in any other department is irrelevant. It migth have done well in those, but it did not do good in its BD sales, which is what we are discussing here.
Nobody ever said the series was flopping, we said the BD sales are flopping.

All I care about is that Free! managed to add a couple more thousand to its total sales. Hoping for a few hundred more next week, but eh.
