The clothes are practical and don't instantly out the wearer as a fujoshi, so they're safe to wear in public. That's two positive aspects which are missing from most anime- or manga-themed clothing.

+1. Those are the 2 aspects I look for in anime themed clothing.

There's actually a pretty decent amount of subtle anime clothing available but most of it is made in limited runs or very expensive. Not to mention usually only sold by Japanese webshops that would require a middleman to buy from.
