For me, the short stories having its own book is boring. I don't know if I would have enjoyed them more if they were in their original spots in the manga, but it would have provided a balance between this and the main story. This book is pure monster of the week material lol.

Is the Ami story in this one the source material for the "Ami's First Love" anime special or was that a different short story?

That is correct...I think the short came out with before or after the Super S season.....

I would like it if some "Sailor V" stories would make the SM remake.

You're more generous than I am. I found the short stories collection to be really insipid, and dumb. I didn't notice the continuity errors, but I was busy trying to find some redeeming value in the manga at the time. Does anyone know if the second volume is better?

I think it will be. That volume should have the story the "S" movie was based on and one about Rei and her father, that, if memory serves, is pretty good.

For me the most revealing parts of the characters for me was the revelations that Mokato lost her parents in a plane crash when she was a young child causing her to suffer with OCD hence the obsessive house cleaning. That Minako doesn't get on with her mother. But the most surprising revelation was Rei attending a Catholic high school. Being a Mako the dogma of both Shinto Buddhism and its multiple gods and shamenism, and the one and only God of Catholicism with the Ten Commandments, must be giving her some serious headaches with conflicts of interest. Also she hates men, and apparently Minako too. though I nearly pissed myself when Mina asked Rei if she farted when performing zen exercises.

I liked this manga. It was cute and fun. I also liked that we get to know more about the Sailor Scouts in their personal lives. I hope the second volume comes out soon. I'd be interested to see it.

Unlike every other book, I didn't pre-order this one, and I still don't have it.
If I remember correctly these stories were supposed to be included in their proper books, and I have absolutely no interest in buying them separate.
