So I just finished watching Full Metal Panic TSR and the OAV.
Just curious, TSR left 2 characters pretty much not 100% explained which makes me believe there might be a series after TSR. Is there? Is there news on it? I couldnt find any

If there is one, which i hope there is. It would be season 3 not 4. The way it ended seems like there will be and i vaguely remember another discussion about this in another thread, and they waited something like 2 years after season 1 to anounce TSR.

I think you're forgetting about Fumoffu. While it was made up of side stories and wasn't a part of the main storyline, it could still reasonably be considered to be a second season, even though the third season is labeled as the second. To answer the original poster's question, it's possible that another season will be made. It's also possible that it won't. Either way, you'll have to be patient and wait for the news. If you've already looked for news about another sequel to a popular series and haven't found any, that usually means that there is no news about it. There is, however, enough of the source material, the original novels, to do at least two more series, and the novels aren't finished yet. Be patient, and maybe we'll see more FMP! animated. |

This was answered numerous times before in similar threads.
FMP is based on a novel series and the novels indicate that there will be a continuation from TSR. But it's already painfully obvious that TSR ended screaming, "watch the next season!". So far, there has been no official announcement about a continuation of TSR (or I can't find it). |

Well, regardless of whether b214 forgot it or not, I never refer to Fumoffu as season 2 in FMP! I think of it as more of a side story or a light-version of SD Gundam MK. For me: Season 1, Fumoffu, Season 2, and . . . . In answer to the question, as long as the series makes money, there will be more (*cough*EVA*cough*). And FMP! makes money (I think); ergo, more. Now, as to the quality of the story, I avidly believe the high-standard of action and character development will continue, making more series even more sweet. |

I didn't forget about fumoffu. Its made of a bunch of side stories and doesn't advance in a main plot, not a season. The fact that the creators of the anime consider TSR season 2 should mean that fumoffu isn't a season. If they made the nge manga Angelic Days into an anime. It definitely wouldn't be consdered a season 2.(hope not)

Here's a somewhat old thread that speculated the same thing. Also, if you want find all (or most) threads relating to Full Metal Panic!, try using the Search feature and type in "full metal panic" and "one3rd" as the author. In case you can't tell by his avatar, he more than likely particpated in a majority of FMP! discussions.
