I could have this entire encyclopedia in complete order, I just wish I had stronger editing powers so I could fix all the aliases. I mean it I would love to contribute more, But I would love to have a little more power to fix some blatant errors I'm seeing.

Big words.
(Sigh) Is this a self-recommendation letter to apply for a position of Encyclopedist? I don't want to sound harsh, but your submission and error report records didn't show any outstanding quality for an Encyclopedist. Please compare yourself to those non-staff veterans (including but not limited to doc-watson42, EmperorBrandon, wao and woelfie) in this thread. |

Dude, with enough time I'll have it in perfect condition too!
Just...give me a couple of years, okay? >_> |

Who needs those "outstanding" qualities? I mean, after this guy's made an encyclopedia member (who has contributed a mere 303 articles compared to the thousands other people have submited), does it really matter? FYI, I have nothing against Shinotaku, moreso, whoever decided he was "qualified" to become an encyclopedia member when there are SO many other people who are FAR more qualified. |

Seriously. ANN's too tight-assed about it's staff. They should have 3-4 times the amount of encyclopedia staff, but the bar is set SOOOO high nobody qualifies. That's just no good.
Have they been offered staff positions? From what I've seen, they seem like they'd do a good job. |

I'm just saying that I wish i could be a staff member on the encyclopedia because This is all I do allday seriously. Go see how many edits i've contributed to wikipedia. I have the link right here.
That's right Over 10,000 edits to that piece. If I had better Powers, let me say the aliases would be getting fixed faster. |

Samurai CDZ is somewhat correct about how "tight-assed" we are about who becomes an admin. The problem is that the Encyclopedia wasn't really designed with a large number of "admins" in mind, and the admin process isn't very transparent.
We're currently planning the next version of the encyclopedia, a re-write from the ground up that will include significant peer-aproval functions. This new version will actually have fewer admins because regular users will automatically be able to do a lot of the tasks that the admins currently perform. This includes approving new-title submissions, approving other sorts of information, updating (redeeming) information, and removing false information, even banning abusive users. Since all this is planned, we aren't planning on adding any new admins right now, but I might actually consider a few in order to keep the encyclopedia more current while we wait for the new version. These new "admins" will be invited based on past contributions (quality trumps quantity), so please don't tell us that you think you'd be a great candidate. -t |

Will it also include the ability to fix typographical and grammatical errors in Plot Summaries? I get irritated to no end when I want to read up on a show I think I might enjoy and the summary looks like a nine-year-old wrote it. |

Would that be something like what Music Brainz does? Some edits are applied right away while most require peer approval. |

From what I've heard about the admin side it doesn't make things easy (someone once complained about a series of small updates I put through on the same article which generated a lot of work for them)
If the error/update form was the same as the submission form but with the current details already filled in for editing, and the admins were then presented with a before/after view and approve/deny buttons, it would make processing updates a lot faster and easier. |

Yes.
Not familiar with that site (and not going to check today), but what you describe sounds about right.
If we were planning on fixing the old system, that would be the way to go about it. -t |
