Great license.
Only read about 10 chapters of it a couple of months ago, so I'll definitely pick this up.

Well they hinted at it a lot on the podcast so the announcement itself isn't too much of a surprise. Shame it's not gonna be in the mag, but if it means we don't have to deal with censorship issues, I've got no objections(though I do think recent chapters have toned things down enough that they could potentially have gotten away with it). Can't wait to pick up the release

I haven't read the manga yet but I love the artist (huehuehue) and I think I'll be picking this up mostly on the principle of trying to support Viz picking up more shonen jump comedies. #Gintamaneverforget

That it's getting a print release here is fantastic. It deserves it.

That my hopes were raised after the various teasing over the past month of this getting added to English WSJ and the subsequent dashing of said hopes is.... less fantastic.

Recent school shootings in the USA is pretty much the main reason why Assassination Classroom will not get licensed by Viz anytime soon. IIRC, they said as much in one of the podcasts.

Okay, great. I was totally excited because more foodie manga is always awesome, but now I'm not. If it's "too racy" for SJ, it's probably got more fanservice than I'm willing to put up with. And since it's not gonna run in the magazine, I can't get a no-strings-attached taste to see if I'll like it anyways. Maybe I'll just skip this one, then. >_>

Really? That's a big disappointment.

Really glad Viz licensed this though, one of my favourites in WSJ at the moment. But where is Medaka Box Viz!?

Great news on any account! It's one of my favorite currently running manga, and I didn't expect it to get a US release... But now that it has been announced, it's a day one purchase for me especially considering I'm one of the few people on here with a SnS avatar! Anime hyper

Well, the 'too racy' label certainly applies to the first few chapters. The early gimmick to catch readers was foodgasms. As in, in the first chapter, the first foodgasm we see is a high school girl getting tentacle raped Shocked
But after the beginning, the raciness got turned down significantly, since by then it was clear that this series wasn't getting axed anytime soon. Instead, the foodgasms have been getting more varied and creative. They're actually pretty well executed. Outside the foodgasms, the fanservice hasn't been layered on too thick in a long while. And interestingly enoug, it's actually been pretty equal opportunity; quite a fair amount of manservice to go with what we typically interpret fanservice as.
Honestly, there hasn't been anything in Souma in the past.... 30+ chapters? that's been as racy as say, naked Masaki in Bleach, and we got that in our WSJ.
