I'm not very familiar with this series, to me it's just another sports-themed manga/anime. Are there objections to implied yaoi content? Have there been incidents like this in the past? Perhaps these are questions for the Answerman, but I never thought Japanese society had any significant social conservative elements.

I don't think it has to do with yaoi content. Apparently, from what I've read, the person that's been sending these threat letters and such, probably has a personal grudge against the manga creator of Kuroko's Basketball.

I find it pretty ludicrous that they can't catch this guy. It's been over a year of this silly childishness.

So now he's calling out Shokugeki no Soma too? As well as One Piece, and Naruto... This is getting out of hand!

Props to Kino and the other bookstores!
I spotted a guy reading a newspaper at the station yesterday and saw a huge headline that said "TSUTAYA" so I'm guessing there was an article about KuroBas being removed from Tsutaya.

Animate keeps selling all sorts of KuroBas merchandise [including the manga and related dojinshi] too. kudos to all of them.
shame on Tsutaya, bowing to a stupid threat that is probably never going to materialize anyway.

I think he refers to Toriko, not Shokugeki no Soma.

You're probably right, but decadent obscene gourmet manga could fit both of them haha

Kudos to these bookstores for not falling on these threats. Also, Animate, please don't ever stop selling Kurobasu merchandise ever. Keep fighting, Animate!
And yeah, shame on you Tsutaya, SHAME ON YOU!
So now the guy is targeting Naruto, One Piece and either SnS or Toriko. All of these are WSJ manga.
And lol Shueisha, "continuing to co-operate with the police". Yeah, right. If you guys were really co-operating you'd have gotten SOME kind of lead by now.

Definite props to bookstores that are not letting this threat stop them from selling Kuroko no Basket products.
I hope the other chains and stores reconsider putting back Kuroko no Basket and stand against these threats. If they submit to these threats and obey, there will be more threats in the future to remove more products...
It's quite an interesting situation. I remember reading an article last year with a letter saying "I hate Tadatoshi Fujimaki, who is now a famous Sophia University alumnus. I wanted to take revenge on Fujimaki himself, but could not find his location. I had no other choice but to target here."
Still, I think this is quite excessive since this started around October 2012. I hope they find some lead or have a breakthru into catching whomever is responsible for these terrible threats.

That's pretty amazing (and welcome) since they've been caving left and right on everything else whenever this psycho makes a threat.
How have they not caught him yet?

It's about time someone decided not to cave to internet threats from fanboys.
