I'm so excited for this! It'll be great to see the Xillia cast return and see how Ludger and Elle work as protagonists.
Also, Ludger seems like my favorite type of silent protagonist, from what I've seen: still has personality, but your choices can influence how he bonds with the team. Most silent protagonist games that I haven't had that much fun with either put a little too much responsibility in the players hands in regard to choices (like Devil survivor Overclocked, where every choice spoiler[felt like it would lead to a bad ending and characters kept dying] or Suikoden 4, where the lead was basically a blank slate aside form his angry monkey face.
I probably enjoyed Suikoden 5 so much in part because the prince actually had a personality, and you could make fun/funny choices without worrying if you just put yourself on the path for a bad ending. Couldn't be more excited to see Ludger in action if I tried.

Hold on is Ludger the one speaking to the girl? If so then he's not much of a silent protagonist.

One thing I find extremely odd is the fact that they did voice all of his lines in the game, but apparently you can only unlock his voice by using grade which means you need a new game plus (2nd play though)

Now if you're wondering why they don't just give you the option to turn on/off his voice from the start, apparently having Ludger speak early on in the game reveals some plot details that you (the player) aren't suppose to be aware of yet....yeah I really REALLY don't understand this. Since I do not wish to spoil any plot details for myself, I guess I'll just have to wait to play the game to see how any of this makes sense.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to this game, but from what I've read Namco Bandai seems to have made some really weird decisions here.

If you mean the guy in all black with the mask thing at the beginning, that's not Ludger. That's Victor (I think?), Elle's father. He's the one that tells her to board the train.
I don't really get the grade shop unlocking voice either, but at least he'll have a voice eventually.
